Planet Ark's National Tree Day started in 1996 and has grown into Australia's largest community tree planting and nature care event.

Again in 2025, Queanbeyan Landcare together with Queanbeyan-Palarang Regional Council will host the event in the local Queanbeyan area. This year it will be at The Scar (between the Dog Park and the BMX Track).
