Radio Landcare

Tom Baker and Margaret Piper have hosted Radio Landcare for many years. Tom has been a member of Queanbeyan Landcare since it started in 1994 and before that he was a member of Trees for Queanbeyan, a Council led committee.  The breath of his knowledge of Landcare’s history in this region and other matters Landcare is extraordinary and is complemented by Margaret another long time Landcarer.

We are delighted to welcome Casey Barancewicz, who has just joined our team. Casey brings fresh enthusiasm and a keen interest in the sciences, making her a fantastic addition to our group. Casey is already actively involved in environmental work as a Waterwatch Volunteer, demonstrating her commitment to protecting our waterways and natural ecosystems.

We would like to thank Jane Lawrence from Lids4Kids for her commitment and bringing her expertise in recycling small plastic items to the show.

The Radio Landcare show includes a summary of ‘What’s On’ in the Landcare/catchment management community as well as interviews with stakeholders including on-ground volunteers, coordinators, businesses, government and those with scientific and technical backgrounds. Radio Landcare covers issues in both the urban and rural contexts. The show is on every Tuesday on 2XX Community Radio 98.3FM from 9:00am to 10:00am.
